- What? The 2006 AKC Youth National Championship will be a “Come all Event!” Youth aged 17 and younger will compete for the AKC Youth National Nite Hunt Champion and AKC Youth National Bench Show Champion titles. Excellent awards and prizes to be awarded as well.
- How to qualify? You do not need to qualify to hunt or show at the 2006 AKC Youth National Championship! (Youths that have earned the previously required five cast wins will receive a special award at the AKC Youth National Championship.)
- When? The 2006 AKC Youth National Nite Hunt Championship will take place on September 29th and 30th and the 2006 AKC Youth National Bench Show Championship will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2006.
- Where? The AKC Youth National Championships will be held in conjunction with the 2006 AKC Coonhound World Championship at the beautiful Kosciusko County 4-H Community Fairgrounds. You’ll enjoy all the fun and fanfare of the AKC World Championship while competing with coon hunting youth from across the country in a hunt and show that’s all your own - the AKC Youth National Championship!
- How to enter? Anyone meeting the AKC Youth age requirement of 17 years and younger may enter. You may enter early for a discounted entry fee of $20.00 or enter on site for the $25.00 entry fee. Entry forms are also available by Clicking Here

- Nite Hunt Format: Two age divisions: Division One – Age 12 and younger. Division Two – Age 13 to 17. (Note: No one that is 18 years of age on September 29, 2006 may participate.)
Friday Night: Enter or confirm advance entry by 3:00 PM local time.
All dogs draw out in early round. (Note: Late round may be necessary in order to eliminate dogs for early final cast on Saturday.) All dogs advance on cast win regardless of score. Wins on titles awarded in accordance with AKC regulations.
Saturday Night: Cast winners advancing from Friday night compete in Championship cast.
- Bench Show Format: One division: Age 17 and younger. (Note: Special “Kiddie Show” to follow. No entry fee.) Standard AKC Bench Show format. All AKC Bench Show regulations apply. Best Male of Show, Best Female of Show, Champion Male and Female, Grand Champion Male and Female, Supreme Grand Champion Male and Female show in runoff for AKC National Youth Champion title and awards. No advance entry. Entry fee - $15. Entry deadline: "(Note time and date change!)" 12 Noon, Saturday, September 30, 2006.
- Registration requirements. All dogs that are shown or hunted at the 2006 AKC Youth Nationals must be registered with AKC. If you would like to hunt or show a dog that is not registered with AKC, then you may register on site prior to entering the hunt or bench show. The registration fee will be $15.00. Please bring your dog’s PKC or UKC pedigrees to be photocopied.
